What is the commission process like?If you are interested in commissioning a piece, I open up commissions once a year, typically around December/January. Once slots are full, I don't take anymore until the next year. The rate is based on canvas size and subject matter. Once we have finalized those things, a non-refundable deposit of 50% holds your spot on my list. I do not hold a spot unless a deposit has been paid.

What is the typical timeline for a commissioned piece?Because every painting is different and life sometimes interferes, it is hard to determine an exact timeline. Typically, you can expect a piece to be completed 8 to 10 weeks after my start date. For example, if I start working on your piece is January, you can generally expect to recieve it around March.

Can I commission something other than a portrait? That depends! I typically only draw and paint figurative pieces, but I will occassionally do some nature drawing (birds, mushrooms, flowers, etc.). I do not paint landscapes, abstracts or pets (but I can recommend artists who do).

Can I hire you to illustrate a book?Yes! If my schedule allows, I do illutrations. Please send me an email for details.

How can I find out about upcoming exhibits?Sign up for my mailing list and I will send periodic updates about when and where I am showing.
